How do I know what services I will need and how often?
Annual testing is required for the most common devices typically used in commercial facilities, i.e. sprinklers, fire alarm panels, emergency lights, and fire extinguishers. If you are a restaurant owner, a semi-annual fire suppression system test is likely required for the kitchen hoods. Some inspections may include intermittent inspections at 5 years, such as the 5-year internal sprinkler inspection, or FDC flushes. Additionally, your insurance agency and/or licensing may require inspections more frequently.
Reaching out to your local Fire Department or your States Fire Marshal's Office is the best way to be sure you are following the codes in your area.
